Picture Butte High School (PBHS) is pleased to announce that they will be organizing the 2nd Annual Step into Health 5K-3K Walk/Run in Picture Butte on Saturday, April 24th 2010. The race was initially established as a student project – through the Alberta Lung Association’s BLAST Program – in pursuit of reducing tobacco use in the community. However, with much consideration PBHS decided to take it on as a school project in efforts to promote Healthy Living in general, and to give back to their community whom supports the school greatly.

The event will hold a focus on Healthy Living while offering information on ways one may improve their health and general lifestyle. Information booths regarding healthy living will be set up during the event.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Community Recreation Centre in the Town of Picture Butte. The event, consequently, is intended to impact the greater community as a whole.

When:

Saturday, April 24 2010 - 9 am start time

Registration:

Registration can be completed by visiting the online registration page or by dropping off or mailing a completed registration form (with payment) to Picture Butte High School.

Entry Fee:

Pre-Registration (due by March 31) is CLOSED.	Pre-Registrants are guaranteed a race shirt.
NEW - Late Registration (after March 31) is reduced to $20. Online late registrants will receive a refund on race day.	NEW - The first 15 late registrants will receive a T-shirt.

An additional fee will be added for individuals registering online

Participants:

The race is limited to 150 participants. Awards will be given for top overall male and female and top 2 finishers in each age group, for both the 3K and the 5K.

Course:

The race will follow the same course as last year, with the 3K being a single loop and the 5K being an out an back.
