Students Raise Money, Teachers Shave Heads

The students of Picture Butte High School, along with the community of Picture Butte and area, helped to raise a whopping $12 837.85 through the annual Walkathon fundraiser in September. This total exceeds last year's fundraising efforts by over $3000. Many thanks to all of the students and their families who worked so hard to raise money for the school. A big thank you as well to all members of the business community who donated so generously to the Walkathon. Funds will be used to pay for student programs that are not funded by Alberta Education such as field trips, Student's Union activities and non-curricular school equipment. Special recognition goes to Mr. Kwasny and Mr. VandeGriend who agreed to shave their heads if the school raised over $10 000 in the Walkathon. Both men are sporting the "cue ball" look this week.
